Our Word List

We use the full SOWPODS dictionary — the Collins Scrabble Words list used in all official Scrabble tournaments outside North America, including Australia, the UK, New Zealand, South Africa, and most of Asia. SOWPODS contains 267,751 valid words.

Teacher Mode additionally uses the Oxford Word List, a research-based list of the most common words encountered by Australian children in their early years of schooling, aligned to the Australian Curriculum.
