Frequently Asked Questions

Is Teacher Mode really free?
Yes. The core Teacher Mode β€” whiteboard display, printable worksheets, preset curriculum lists β€” is free forever. A premium tier with cloud saving and extended curriculum packs is coming soon (from A$5/month).
Are there ads in Teacher Mode?
No. Teacher Mode is 100% ad-free to keep the experience clean for classroom and whiteboard use. Ads only appear in Play Mode for Scrabble players.
What Australian Curriculum content is covered?
We include word lists aligned to the Australian Curriculum English strand for Foundation through Year 6, using the Oxford Word List as our primary reference. All words use Australian English spelling.
Does Easy Mode work for all word lengths?
Easy Mode (first and last letters fixed) works for words with 3 or more letters. Two-letter words are scrambled normally as they only have two positions.
Can I use this on an interactive whiteboard?
Yes β€” the whiteboard display is designed specifically for interactive whiteboards (SMART Board, Promethean, etc.). It uses large fonts (up to 8rem), high contrast, and responds to keyboard arrow keys.
What spelling conventions does Unscramble AU use?
We follow Australian English throughout: -ise (not -ize), -our (not -or), -re (not -er), aluminium (not aluminum), programme, travelling (double-l), jewellery, and so on.
